Update: As nice as the Sportspace Concept is, Kia has since junked the idea of producing a wagon Optima. It has been reported that Kia did not think it would sell in enough numbers to be viable. Plus it would overlap the niche occupied by the Sorento.

Kia has just shot out the first picture of the actual car that is due for a New York world debut.
It will be available with multiple engine choices,and the car will feature a more spacious interior, class-up premium features and a number of technologies not previously offered on Kia’s best-selling mid-size sedan.
At the Geneva Motor Show in March, Kia's booth showed off the Sportspace Concept, which is reportedly the basis for a wagon Optima.
