PETALING JAYA: Today marks the birth of Malaysia's first Racecar Engineering Course following the official partnership announcement between TOC Automotive College and local professional race team Aylezo Competizione.

The new collaboration looks to help develop Malaysia's motorsport scene with TOC being the training provider while Aylezo imparts their professional insights and experience upon the students during practical sessions for the eight-week course.

“Malaysia's motorsport industry is still in its infancy as compared to other countries,” said TOC founder and CEO Adelaine Foo, and added that while there are many local racing talents, there were very little training providers.

With the academy located in Glenmarie, Shah Alam, the course looks to improve a person's driving technique as well as knowledge with the help of expert professional racecar drivers.

To be eligible for the course, students must be 21 years-old and above and possess a valid Malaysian driving licence to be accepted into the course

After which, they will be introduced to the basics of motorsports such as proper seating position, car control, technical knowledge, interpreting a car's handling characteristic and how to effectively communicate with engineers to name a few.

The classes will also help expose students to what racecar drivers and pit crews experience at a race circuit with sessions held at the academy's purpose-built Go-Kart track equipped with simulators.

“We're here to set a pathway to for all future potential racecar drivers by introducing this eight-week racecar engineering course, to improve their driving technique and gain professional racing instruction from experts,” said Foo.
