KUALA LUMPUR: Goodyear Malaysia today announced the appointment of Alex Ng as its managing director.
Ng is expected to take up his new position in the fourth quarter. In the meantime, Goodyear Asean managing director Andy Cooper would stand in until Ng takes over.
Ng replaces Ben Hoge who is moving on to a senior role within Goodyear’s European, Middle East and Africa organisation (EMEA) after a three-year posting in Malaysia.
Ng joined Goodyear in 2008 as a general manager in Singapore. In 2009, he was promoted to become the general manager for the company's aviation business, based in Bangkok.
He was subsequently promoted to original equipment director for Asia Pacific in 2012. From 2013, he assumed his current business portfolio as market director for Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Philipines and export markets.
