PETALING JAYA: Hyundai Ioniq has won the 2016 Good Design awards, in recognition of successful application of its design philosophy.

The company received the design award for the Ioniq, two consecutive years in 2015 and this year, which is the first in the world to offer three distinct electrified powertrains on a single, dedicated vehicle platform – the Ioniq Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and Electric.

The Ioniq will attract an entirely new group of eco-oriented buyers in the US market as the world’s first dedicated vehicle platform with three electrified eco-friendly powertrain choices.

Ioniq meets the needs of a large and growing group of buyers needing a highly efficient, low-emissions vehicle without compromise to their demand on aerodynamic design as well as vehicle performance.

The annual awards program has been developed by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design in recognition of the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs from around the world.

The oldest and the most prestigious architecture and design awards program organized worldwide, the Good Design award brought together an international jury of design professionals, architects, experts and cultural leaders to select their favourite designs and graphics.

Among the thousands of world-leading industrial and graphic design firms and manufacturers being evaluated, Hyundai Motor stood out for its product, highlighting the competitiveness of the brand’s design strategy and output.
