If you are studying in the US, Volvo wants to lease you a car

NEW YORK: Volvo is targeting foreign students studying in the United States with an offer of a new car under its international student programme.

Under the programme, students or rather their parents or sponsors need only come up with an all-inclusive one-time payment that allows the students to drive a new Volvo vehicle during their time studying in the United States.

According to a Volvo statement on Thursday, parents and students alike will have the peace of mind of not having to make monthly payments, purchase separate insurance, establish US credit, or worry about routine maintenance and service. After graduation, the student simply turn the car in to a local dealer.

Volvo Car USA sales operations vice president Rick Bryant said the programme was an example of the company making life less complicated for customers as it is "one simple payment with nothing else to worry about during their time studying in the country.”

Students enrolled at a US college or university, with a student visa and valid driver’s licence are eligible. So this programme is applicable to Malaysians as well - at least those with spare change after paying for an expensive education in the States.
