Isuzu M’sia appoints new COO of Commercial Vehicle

KUALA LUMPUR: Isuzu Malaysia has appointed Atsunori Murata as the new chief operating officer (COO) in charge of Commercial Vehicle Division operations.

Isuzu Malaysia chief executive officer (CEO) Koji Nakamura said Murata has held diverse leadership roles in Isuzu Motors and his experience in sales and business development, product planning and operations would be beneficial to Isuzu Malaysia.

Murata has been with Isuzu Motors since 1998 and had served in overseas markets such as China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, EU countries and the United Nations.

He was also been seconded to Isuzu Trucks South Africa in 2010 and Isuzu Sub Saharan Africa in 2015.

Upon his return to Isuzu Motors Japan, Murata was tasked as the chief co-ordinator for Tokyo Motor Show 2017.

“I am thrilled to join Isuzu’s Malaysian operations and will do my best to bring the company to the next level in the local automotive industry,” he said.

Aside from Murata, other new faces who recently joined the local operations are After Sales Division Chief Operating Officer Ryo Kakogawa, After Sales Division senior advisor Katsushi Shimauchi and Parts Operations advisor Yuji Shinya.
