KUALA LUMPUR: JP Moto Racing Team was officially launched and marked a significant milestone for a Malaysian Team in world Moto GP scene.

Under the banner of JP Performance Motorsports, it is history in the making where an entirely funded private entity has thrust itself into the world of Moto GP racing.

Eskil Suter a former racer and brain behind championship winning Sutter bikes that dominated the Moto2 world Championship is proud to be associated with the Malaysian outfit.

Riding the bike for the World Series is a local talent Zaqhwan Zaidi overall champion of the ARRC 600cc Supersports title, MSS 1000cc Superbike title and the CP 130 Malaysian Cup Prix Champion.

JP Moto Racing has contracted Suter engineers in developing the performance of the chassis in tandem with suspension works, which is provided by KYB the world No 1 shock absorbers manufacturer.

Team principal JP Chin added this dream is now a reality with the support of passionate and patriotic Malaysian supporters and partners.

JP Moto Racing Team is open for further support to other Malaysian corporate companies who can leverage on the team for global branding for their services and products.

According to Chin, they are different from the conventional racing team as they have formulated a special “membership” programme where associated members are provided with “ownership” privileges and glamour.

In short these members are part owners of the Team.

JP Performance Motorsports entry into world Moto 2 Series is to create a 3-5 years opportunity for commercial partners to benefit from what they projected this will be a very successful team both on and off the track.

In preparation for the first race of the calendar to be held on March 29 in Dubai, Zaqhwan had two test sessions on the new Suter MMX2 at Sepang International Circuit.

After the test he said he is happy with the performance of the bike and the works of the technical crew, hence he was excited with the prospect of competing against the best riders in the world and will be pushing his bike to its limit in search of success in his rookie season.
