JPJ to replace all lost, damaged documents for free

PUTRAJAYA: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) will provide replacement documents at no charge for those affected by the recent floods in the country.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said the documents included driving licences, road tax discs and vehicle ownership certificates.

“The replacements can be made for free for flood victims. They have to lodge a police report (for the lost documents). But, they don’t have to rush. After they are done handling their own affairs, we will give them a time period where they can come to the JPJ branches,” he said during a press conference after the inaugural Kuala Lumpur International Logistics and Transport (KiLAT) Excellence Awards ceremony today.

The award is the first award for the Malaysian Transport Industry jointly organised by the Transport Ministry and EPL Exhibition Sdn Bhd.

Dr Wee added that a mobile JPJ unit would be at affected flood areas and it would be more convenient for those affected to replace their documents.
