KUALA LUMPUR: Visitors at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2018 (KLIMS’18) are thrilled by the extensive “art-on-wheels” display of exotic high-powered cars at the "Sup-Up Car" zone where the cars are customised with stunningly colourful vehicle body stickers and wrapping.

The motor show is being held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) till Dec 2.

The "Sup-Up Car" zone presented by Wrap Xpert, Tom’s Stickers and ODR Lubricants has supercars including the Ferrari 458 Italia, Range Rover Velar, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG with eye-catching gull-wing doors, Bentley Continental GT, the Lamborghini Gallardo, the McLaren 650S GT3, and the Cadillac Escalade 180" - the longest souped-up limousine in Malaysia.

Visitors were also enthralled by the Art of Speed zone which showcases the latest custom-built bikes including the BMW R75/6 White Angel by the Rusty Factory, and the Valkyrie bespoke science fiction concept by Kenstomoto.

Among the visitors were 53-year-old Nasir Mat who drove from Seremban with his wife Jaridah Kadir, 52, and 15-year-old son Emir Hakini.

It was the second visit to the motor show by Nasir and his family, as their first attempt last Sunday came to naught after failing to find a parking spot.

"We took a day off from work to come here. The Sup-Up Car section is very interesting with cars like the McLaren 650S GT3," said Nasir.

As for 33-year-old engineer Mizam Zawawi, who hails from Kuala Lumpur, his favourite "Sup-Up" car is the second-generation Honda NSX sports car.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old student Nian Xiang from Puchong also admired the exotic "Sup-Up" cars.

"My favourite is the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. There are many nice cars here and I can't get enough of them," he said.

On Thursday, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One driver Valtteri Bottas was also the star attraction, as F1 fans crowded the Petronas booth and many formed a queue during an autograph signing session with the Finnish race driver.

Also present was Petronas Dagangan Bhd managing director and CEO Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir who pointed out that Petronas supplies the F1 team with not only racing fuel and engine oil, but all the ancillary fluids that are used in the race car.

"We work very closely with the F1 team. Our job is to make sure the Mercedes-AMG F1 car drives faster than the competition," said Syed Zainal.
