KUALA LUMPUR: If you are in the market for an exclusive, lightweight sports car then you are in luck. Lotus Cars Malaysia unveiled not one but two models - Lotus 3-Eleven and Lotus Evora Sport 410 - which are now available in Malaysia.

The 3-Eleven is Lotus’ fastest car in its product range and is available in two variants - the Road version for RM640,855 and the Race version for RM868,214.

The Lotus Evora Sport 410 also comes in two choices - manual and automatic transmission - with a starting price of RM640,999 for the latter and RM651,999 for the former.

The new 3-Eleven features an all-new lightweight body with an open cockpit design (which means no roof and no doors) and a revised supercharged 3.5 litre engine which produces 450hp.

The 3-Eleven hits 0-100kph in 3.4 seconds and features a lightweight aluminium extruded and bonded chasis while the body is comprised of carbon fibre. The front and rear suspension is a fully independent double wishbone type, fixed anti-roll bars, Eibach springs and Ohlins single adjustable dampers.

Other features include engine stop/start button, adjustable traction control, full-colour TFT display and 225/40 18inch wheels in the front with 275/35 19inch wheels in the rear.

The Race version includes a more aggressive aero kit, a sequential gearbox and an FIA compliant driver’s seat with a six-point harness.

The Evora Sport 410 has a bit more practicality with a roof and two doors and, in this latest iteration derived from the Evora 400, the boffins at Hethel (Lotus’ manufacturing facility in the UK) has slashed 70kg of weight, increased its power output, and improved its handling.

The Evora Sport 410 now comes with a host of high-performance carbon fibre components as standard and the supercharged engine produces 410hp and takes only 4.1 seconds from 0-100kph.

Some of its features include driver selectable ESP modes - Drive/Sport/Race, tyre pressure monitoring system, active exhaust valve control, and black Alcantara trimmed carbon fibre sports seats with contrast stitching.

Can’t get enough of carbon fibre? Well, the 410 has it in spades with the carbon fibre tailgate with integrated rear spoiler and louvered backlight, carbon fibre rear diffuser, and carbon fibre roof panel, front access panel and front splitter.

Present at the event were chairman of Lotus Cars Malaysia, Datuk Ahmad Fuaad Kenali; Director of Lotus Cars Malaysia, Datuk Radzaif Mohamed and Head of Lotus Cars Malaysia, Tengku Djan Ley.

A handing over ceremony of a Lotus 3-Eleven was also held and was presented it to its new owner, Jeffry Talib.
