Lucky executive takes home a Kia Picanto

CYBERJAYA: A brand new Kia Picanto was picked up by 54-year old Velu Kumar Suppan, who recently won it as a Grand Prize during a lucky draw held in conjunction with the fourth edition of the Malaysia Autoshow 2018.

The show, themed ‘360-degree Mobility Experience’, was organised by the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI) and was held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) from April 26 to 29.

“The new Kia Picanto is timely as my current car is quite old. I look forward to using it as my daily commute to work in Subang Jaya,” said Velu who was one of the 215,853 visitors that attended the annual show.

MAI chief financial officer Mohd Sazali bin Mohamed Amin presented Velu with the key to his new car during a prize giving ceremony at the MAI headquarters in Cyberjaya.

Also, during the show, 30 car buyers managed to win fuel vouchers worth RM1,000 each.

Various activities were held during the Malaysia Autoshow 2018 that included off-road driving, a karting experience and test drive sessions.

For the first time, the show also provided visitors a glimpse into the future and how the automotive industry plans to be a globally competitive player in mobility through the Intelligent Mobility Experience (IMEX).

IMEX provided look into the elements of future employment and business opportunities in sectors such as smart manufacturing and connectivity.

More than 150 cars comprising some of the latest models in the market and Volvo classic cars were on display during the show.
