MAN Malaysia’s Muller retires

KUALA LUMPUR: MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd (MAN Malaysia) managing director Hartmut Mueller, 62, has elected to retire four months ahead of his contract’s expiry in August. His last day with the company will be April 30.

MAN Malaysia general manager of sales and marketing Jerome Wong and head of aftersales Thayalan Subramaniam will assume acting leadership to ensure a smooth transition roles pending the appointment of a replacement.

MAN Truck & Bus Asia Pacific Importer Centre managing director Spencer Tan said: “Mueller has shown exceptional leadership during his five-year tenure with MAN Malaysia.

“Under his management, the company has seen robust and consistent growth in Malaysia and he has also help positioned the MAN brand prominently amidst a very competitive landscape,” he said. Mueller started work at MAN Malaysia in September 2013.

Prior to that, he has held various positions in MAN including senior vice-president of sales management, senior vice-president of International Key Accounts and CEO for MAN France.

“On the personal side, after five wonderful years in this country, my family is ready to return to Germany. With MAN’s world-class products and services, and our people’s broad capabilities, MAN’s customers here can rest assure they will continue to be in good hands,” said Mueller.

During his time in MAN Malaysia, the company has made strong headway into both corporate and government sectors.

Among some of MAN Malaysia’s customers are Mara Liner Sdn Bhd, Lee Ting San Group of Companies and Taipanco Sdn Bhd. Last year, the company also started providing mobile service workshops to customers.
