The 7-day operations is aimed at reducing customers' waiting time to service their vehicle.
“When we started the 7 days operations at selected service outlets prior to this, it was to accommodate normal service and opening hours were only until noon on Sunday. Now, for selected service centres we have extended the opening hours for Sunday up to 5pm. More importantly, we have also enabled warranty claims to be processed during weekends as opposed to only weekdays previously.” said Proton CEO Datuk Ahmad Fuaad Kenali.
Nine service centres that will be providing the 7-full-day services inclusive of repairs and warranty claims are in Plentong, Johor Baru; Peringgit, Malacca; Senawang, Seremban; Temerloh, Pahang; Alor Star, Kedah; Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Ipoh; Juru, Seberang Prai; Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya and the Proton Centre of Excellence here.
From Oct 1, 14 more service centres would follow suit and four more service centres would do so from Dec 1. The business hours for all these outles are from 8am to 5pm, Mondays to Sundays. To ensure availability of service slots, customers are advised to make an appointment at these outlets although walk-ins customers would also be catered to.
Proton has also cut prices of selected replacement parts by 12% to 30% from this month. The reduction in prices of parts such as the turbocharger, electronic control unit and transmission assemblies, is to encourage customers to use genuine parts, said Proton.
