New BMW depot in Johor to supply parts to 23 countries

JOHOR BARU: BMW Group Malaysia's regional parts depot at the Senai airport here is opened for business and will support over 23 countries in the region.

It will distribute aftersales parts, components and lifestyle merchandises for the BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad brands.

Located on over 775,000 square feet of land in a free industrial zone, the RM130mil parts supply site is one of the largest BMW depot in the Asia Pacific region. It was completed in December 2016.

The depot will be supplying parts to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Philippines, Brunei, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Tahiti, New Caledonia, Fiji, and Guam.

Present at its opening on Thursday were BMW Group senior vice president (Asia, Pacific and South Africa) Hendrik von Kuenheim, BMW Group Malaysia CEO and managing director Han Sang Yun and Malaysian Investment Development Authority chief executive officer Datuk Azman Mahmud.
