New Proton 3S outlet opens in Kota Kinabalu

KOTA KINABALU: Proton's new 3S (sales, service and spare parts) outlet, operated by a Shirba Auto Sdn Bhd, has officially opened its doors in Kota Kinabalu.

The opening was jointly officiated by International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Darell Leiking and Proton corporate strategy senior director Yusri Bin Yusuf.

The new 3S outlet marks the third one for Kota Kinabalu with its a built-up area of 2,259 square meters.

It comes equipped with 12 service bays, six service hoists, customer lounge with free Wi-Fi, customer parking bays and a children's play area.

The local carmaker so far has 104 - 3S & 4S outlets nationwide - making the car company with the most number of outlets to offer sales and services all under one roof.

“The initiatives that are put in place have resulted in us gaining confidence from investors and the market. Many have decided to invest in a dealership because they have witnessed the positive developments at PROTON. They see PROTON as a solid brand and are willing to partner with us. Brand perception has also shifted and this is evident from our increasing sales,” said Proton CEO Dr Li Chunrong.

Year-to-date, sales in East Malaysia saw a growth of 31%, whilst for Sabah, the increase was 39%, compared to the same period last year with the Saga remaining the popular choice in the state.
