WOLFSBURG (Germany). Volkswagen is kicking off the new automotive year with the world premiere of the new Touareg in China, the world's strongest growing SUV market and the company’s largest individual market.
The third-generation model will be unveiled on March 23 in Beijing.
The expressive design of the new Touareg is the work of Volkswagen Design head Klaus Bischoff and his team. The new Touareg will come armed with a suite of innovative assistance systems for maximum safety and comfort.
It will feature the Innovision Cockpit, one of the largest digital cockpits in its class, opening up a new type of infotainment environment. Its connectivity makes it a driving Internet node. The drivetrain, air suspension, rear-wheel steering and roll stabilisation all ensure a safe and dynamic driving experience.
Around one million units have been sold since the model series was launched in 2002. It has proven its hardiness in on-road, off-road and rally trails around the world. Highlights include wins in the Dakar Rally events in 2009-2011.
