Next-gen Ford Ranger teased

By CARSIFU | 9 September 2021

LONDON: Ford today announced that the fourth-generation Ranger would be revealed later this year and launched in 2022.

Ranger fans will be excited to know this is the model's first major redesign in 10 years.

The current gen Ranger was already a big hit and Ford is banking on the next one to ramp up its offroad capabilities, while still serving as a vehicle for work, family and play.

The teaser video of the new Ranger showed the pick-up out undergoing testing in various terrains in New Zealand and Australia.

It showed only the exterior of the vehicle as it tackles mud, sand, snow, rocks, inclines and anything in between.

The front looks similar to the chunky and macho appearance of the latest F-150 sold in the US.

It's  high time for safety upgrades so we are hoping the new Ranger would get blind-zone warning, rear cross-traffic alert and 360-degree camera. It's also possible that the rear brakes could be disc instead of drums.

Expect big digital displays for meter cluster and infotainment in the top-grade versions.

Rumours have it the new Ranger may come with a single turbo diesel 2.0-litre, a twin-turbo diesel 2.0-litre, and a turbo diesel 3.0-litre V6.
