Nissan Murano goes on sale in China

SHANGHAI: The all-new Nissan Murano SUV has been announced to go officially on sale in China via the Japanese carmaker’s joint venture agreement with Dongfeng Nissan Passenger vehicle company.

The Murano will be priced from RMB238,800 to 379,800 (RM151,347 to RM240,710)  and will be targeting young Chinese urbanites who pursue a high-energy lifestyle with discerning tastes.

The Murano comes with its signature V-motion grille, floating roof and boomerang LED lights, spacious interior, while sporting the most aerodynamically efficient body that’s rated at just 0.31Cd (Coefficient of drag).

Additionally, the Murano hybrid will also make the Chinese scene, which will be equipped with a supercharged 2.5-litre QR25DER petrol engine that’s been mated to an electric motor equipped with a lithium-ion battery.

The engine-electric motor set up will be married to Nissan’s Intelligent Dual Clutch System and Xtronic transmission.

The Japanese carmaker touts the Murano as being able to deliver the same driving performance as a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine would, while delivering a fuel economy rating similar to that of a 2.0-litre petrol engine.

Furthermore, the hybrid Murano also offers an All-Mode 4x4-i drive system, while being equipped with advanced safety equipment such as Moving Objective Detection (MOD) and Around View Monitor (AVM).

Other driving aids include Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Emergency Assist for Pedal Misapplication (EAPM), Driver Alert System (DAS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Cross Traffic Alert (CTA).
