KUALA LUMPUR: Nur Amira Jamahuni was thrilled to bits at the Anak-Anak Malaysia Walk 2016. After all, she won the top prize – a Proton Suprima S 1.6 Standard CVT – in the lucky draw.

“When my name was announced, I screamed from the bottom of the stage and then squeezed through the crowd to get on it,” she said.

Nur Amira, an executive with a construction company, said: “I am so excited. I totally did not expect this,” said the 29-year-old after the lucky draw session at Bukit Bintang Convention Centre here yesterday.

Initially, Lady Luck had almost deserted her. Nur Amira said she had taken part in the walk with a colleague, whose children wanted to go home right after the event. “They wanted to leave but then we decided to wait until the grand prize winner was announced. This is the first time in my life that I have won a lucky draw.”

Nur Amira, who could barely contain her excitement during the interview, said she planned to give her Perodua Myvi, which she bought five years ago, to her parents. “My parents both share a car but now, they can each drive their own car,” she added.

Proton chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Fuaad Mohd Kenali chose the lucky winner and presented the mock key.
