KUALA LUUMPUR: Pacific & Orient Insurance Co Bhd (POI), recently launched its interactive online game ‘Shortcut by PrOmilej’, with the aim to drive home the message ‘drive less, pay less’ to consumers.

With the campaign, POI wants to create awareness for its usage-based motor insurance, PrOmilej, which is available directly to consumers through its website or App.

Breaking the mould of a one-size-fits-all motor insurance product, PrOmilej offers flexible private car insurance at a premium based on expected annual mileage.

With options to top-up, the innovative plan currently consists of three options: Less than 5,000km, 10,000km and 15,000km and corresponding savings as high as 40% on comprehensive car insurance premiums.

POI chief executive officer Muzir Kassim said the movement control order (MCO) caused by the Covid-19 pandemic had resulted in reduction in vehicle usage as more people were traveling less and working from home.

“Through our PrOmilej product we are offering consumers an opportunity to choose how much they will drive in a year and only pay for that.

"However, the product is also flexible as it allows customers to ‘top up’ the mileage for additional premiums if they have underestimated how much they need.

"This ‘top up’ feature grants customers more control on how much they pay for their car insurance as it enables them to buy “blocks” of mileage as and when they need more,” Muzir said.

The company also said the Shortcut game together with a play-to-win campaign allows participants a chance to win up to RM88,000 worth of prizes, including the grand prize of a brand-new Proton X50

“We are excited to launch this fun free-to-play game that embodies our message well: find the shortest route, ALWAYS DRIVING LESS, to be a winner!

“As the name suggests, users stand to win attractive prizes, if they manage to get the shortest route in the fastest time,” Muzir said.

The campaign will run from May 14 to July 11 and consumers can participate via www.poi2u.com.

Scores are accumulated throughout the duration of the campaign and consumers are advised to play daily to increase their chances of winning the weekly prizes or the grand prize at the end of the campaign.
