Perodua Mid Valley relocates to nearby Menara MBMR

KUALA LUMPUR: The Perodua showroom in Mid Valley City complex has relocated to bigger premises at Menara MBMR, Jalan Syed Putra, here.

The new sales showroom has a built-up area of 6,900 sq ft, which is more than twice the size of its old site nearby. It is operated by DMM Sales Sdn Bhd.

Set up in Jan 20, 1995, DMM Sales Sdn Bhd is one of Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd’s subsidiaries. It is the largest Perodua dealership holder with 17 sales, 13 service and two Body & Paint outlets nationwide.

DMM Sales Sdn Bhd has contributed an average of 10.6% to Perodua’s annual sales in the past five years. Menara MBMR is also home to MBM Resources Bhd, an automotive group with diverse investments in the automotive industry and the major motor trading shareholder for Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

Present at the new showroom opening ceremony today were Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd chairman En Aqil Tan Sri Ahmad Azizuddin, Daihatsu Motor Co Ltd senior managing executive officer Datuk Shigeharu Toda and Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Dr Zahari Husin.

According to the Malaysian Automotive Association, Perodua sold 187,731 vehicles in the first 10 months of the year – an 11% increase from 168,071 vehicles sold in the previous corresponding period.

Based on a January-October 2018 total industry volume of 502,244 units, Perodua’s market share currently stands at 37.4%.
