Some Nissan Serena S-Hybrid units to be recalled for gearbox re-programming

KUALA LUMPUR: Some 4,000 units of the Nissan Serena S-Hybrid are being recalled over a faulty transmission control unit.

Nissan distributor Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd said the Continuously Variable Transmission Control Unit of the fully imported C26 Serena needs to be reprogrammed.

The reprogramming takes 45 minutes and there is no charge to the owners.

The locally assembled version and current C27 Serena S-Hybrid are free from the defect.

Affected customers would be notified by letter, SMS or Whatsapp, and are advised to call the nearest Tan Chong Ekspres Auto Servis Centre outlet for an appointment. Selected Tan Chong Ekspres Auto Servis Centre outlets have extended operation hours and are open 365 days a year.
