NEW YORK: Subaru of America will be staging the world premiere of a new adventure-ready version of the Outback wagon on March 30.
It is believed that the model would be upgraded with an off-road-focused Wilderness package for a more rugged setup.
Expect the package to comprise knobby tyres, six-spoke wheels, a taller suspension and other offroad revisions.
The refreshed Outback would be the first Subaru model to get the package followed by the Forester SUV and Crosstrek crossover.
The Wilderness package is likely to be available only for the Outback variant fitted with the more powerful 260hp turbocharged 2.4-litre flat-four engine that's mated to a CVT and all-wheel drive. The other Outback comes with a 182hp 2.5-litre 4-potter.
