WOLFSBURG: The Volkswagen Nivus, the latest compact crossover developed in Brazil and is expected to be launched in the South American country is also expected to hit the streets of Europe in 2021.

Volkswagen has been doing a few teases of the vehicle ahead of its official debut this spring.

In the latest video tease, the Polo-sized crossover with a coupe roofline is shown with the new VW logo in front and at the back.

The interior looks similar to that in the T-Cross. An example is the steering wheel. The teaser video also display flashes of VW's digital Play infotainment system, which looks really nice.

Volkswagen South America, however, has released some technical specifications about the Nivus such as the fact it will be sold only with a front-wheel-drive layout.

Power will be provided by a turbocharged three-cylinder engine mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic.

The manual variant is equipped with the 1.0 TSI which produces 114hp while the automatic offers 126hp.
