The compact SUV is powered by a 1.8 litre Dual VVT-i engine and equipped with a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) with sequential shifter.
It comes with a range of safety features including Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Other features include side mirror puddle lights, follow-me-home headlights and a premium interior.
The C-HR is already selling in Japan since last year and is available there in four grades priced from under RM100,000.
The C-HR made its world debut at the 2016 Geneva motor show, and gives Toyota a powerful new presence in the crossover market.
Viewed from any angle, the C-HR combines facetted gemstone-like shapes with fluid surfaces and elegantly integrated detailing.
To the rear, the strongly tapered cabin integrates the back door while securing luggage space.
The C-HR is the result of a global cooperation between Toyota design centers on 3 continents.
The original exterior design was created by Calty, Toyota's design studio in California.
In Europe, the C-HR uses Toyota’s latest 1.8-litre hybrid system which delivers 122hp or a 115hp 1.2-litre turbocharged engine.
Also, a 2-litre model with CVT is offered for certain markets.
In Europe, the Toyota Safety Sense system that will be offered as standard on C-HR includes a Pre-Collision system, Lane Departure Alert, Road Sign Assist and Automatic Highbeam, as well as Pedestrian Detection and Adaptive Cruise Control.
More information on the C-HR can be found in toyota.com.my and Toyota Malaysia Facebook page while interested customers are welcomed to register as prospective buyers to receive updates on the model.
