Ahead of this debut at 9.30am (Malaysian time) on April 1, Toyota Gazoo Racing has released preview images of the new GR Corolla and a teaser video.
The two photos appear to show the GR Corolla's front fender and the side sill with the term GR-Four embossed on it, which means the car is going to have four-wheel drive, just like the GR Yaris.
The 1.6-litre turbo 3-pot engine in the GR Yaris has plenty of power to motivate bigger cars like the Corolla, so it's expected to share the same mill that makes up to 268hp.
The GR Corolla might come equipped with a manual gearbox or an 8-speed automatic as first seen in a prototype of the GR Yaris.
The Toyota video below promoting the GR86 has a embedded teaser that suggests the arrival of the GR Corolla. All info at present points to the GR Corolla debuting as a hot hatch rather than a sedan.
