Equipped with sporty black matt details and travel accessories, it is produced in two colours: Green Matt and Desert Sand. The basic selling price of the scooter is RM17,000 inclusive of accessories.
The Vespa Sprint gets a new Piaggio i-Get engine with a single cylinder 4-stroke 150cc air cooled engine, with electronic injection and 3-valve timing.
Maximum power and torque is respectively 9.5kW at 7,750rpm and 12.8Nm at 6,500rpm - making it quick in city traffic of constant “stop and go” or on stretches of open road. Fuel consumption is 42km per litre.
It also has ABS braking system; the front wheel has an innovative detection system – a sensor and a tone wheel – which instantly reads the speed and deceleration of the wheel.
The sensor is linked to an electro hydraulic control unit which activates the ABS system if the wheel decelerates abruptly, preventing locking and the consequent loss of control. The 12-inch rims come with a modern sophisticated new design with 5 double spokes.
In line with the 70th anniversary celebrations of Vespa, the Vespa Sprint Adventure Tour of South East Asia is being held.
A fleet of Vespa, ridden by journalists, celebrities, photographers and Vespa adventure lovers, will ride from Vietnam to Singapore, to publicise sights and sounds along the way.
During the trip, the group would sample local cuisine, take part in each country’s activities and be invited to events held by Vespa and their biking communities.
The grand prize & runner-up winners would be chosen from a pool of the most active followers on Facebook and Instagram. They stand a chance of winning a 4D3N Bali Vespa Vacation and a set of Limited Edition Graphic Tees respectively (both inclusive of a 1/6th Scale Model).
