IPOH: Volvo Trucks has opened a new Ipoh dealership and this cements another achievement in the company’s strategic Dealer Operating Standard (DOS) Enhancement Programme that was initiated three years ago.

This programme aimed to raise the bar in customer care and to ensure that all dealership processes comply with the Volvo standards of quality products and services.

These standards encompass elements such as good productivity, service quality, improved customer satisfaction and environmental care.

“We recorded a healthy business growth last year and the upgrading of our dealerships is timely as we seek to expand and improve on our service and product offerings to cater to the increasing demand. This also forms part of our larger strategic plan to further capitalise on the country’s growing logistics and haulage activities,” said Volvo Malaysia managing director Mats Nilsson.

The new Ipoh dealership is part of the company’s RM75 million capital injection to upgrade and expand its network of dealerships across Malaysia.

Now operating in a standalone building with a land area of 8,361 square metres and built-up area of 1,160 square metres, the new dealership is a significant upgrade in terms of space and facilities when compared with the shop lot units it previously occupied.

The new dealership has six work bays, a wash bay and the latest tools and equipment for truck diagnosis, service and repairs.

There are also a driver waiting lounge, free wireless internet access, reading materials and complimentary beverages.

The opening of the new dealership was also marked by a truck key handover ceremony to three companies which recently placed new orders for trucks namely Chip Seng Heng Enterprise Sdn Bhd, Riang Baru Transport Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Jasa Selamat Sdn Bhd.

Volvo Malaysia has 11 dealerships across Malaysia – five in Peninsular Malaysia and six in East Malaysia.
