PETALING JAYA: Two motorists have been identified for driving in the motorcycle lane along the Federal Highway.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said a police officer had come across two videos on the incidents over social media on Wednesday.

"The first video showed a Toyota Vios driven by a 33-year-old man while the second was of a 33-year-old woman driving a Perodua Bezza.

"Both were driving from Kuala Lumpur to Klang," he said in a statement today.

He said both drivers had admitted to driving while using Waze which directed them into "a small alley".

"Both of them realised their mistake after noticing many motorcycles and were stopped by riders.

"They were later directed back to the main road," he said, adding that the case was investigated under Section 79(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

ACP Nik Ezanee said both drivers could face a fine of not more than RM2,000 or face a maximum six months’ jail or both if found guilty.
