BATU KURAU: A mechanism to determine the new weekly ceiling price for fuel will be presented to the Cabinet on Wednesday.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin said the presentation is aimed to provide information about the mechanism which will be implemented on April 1.
"When everything is ready, I will announce it," he told reporters after opening the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting of SK Ulu Sepetang, Batu Kurau near here today.
On March 6, Hamzah said the ceiling price of fuel would be announced weekly, beginning next month.
The ministry had advised petrol station operators to cooperate with the Petroleum Dealers Association of Malaysia to establish a working model that could avoid confusion among consumers.
