KUALA LUMPUR: Duty-free and travel retail brand Eraman, under Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, gave away a BMW 318i as the grand prize and other prizes worth over RM330,000 to 54 lucky winners of the Eraman Shopping Extravaganza – Buy & Win Contest.

Tan Ban Ning from Ipoh, who works in the Philippines, won the grand prize along with Bally Bag and Petron Fuel vouchers worth RM3,600 as a reward from her total purchase of RM451.89 at Swarovski Boutique, which is managed by Eraman, at Satellite Building, KLIA.

At the prize-giving ceremony, Tan said, “At first, I thought it was a scam. But after receiving the notification email from the organiser, I realised that this was the real deal.

“I wanted to buy a gift for my friend and stopped by the Swarovski boutique, not expecting to win anything.

“Now I am walking away with a luxury car and a year’s worth of fuel by Petron!” she said.

Present to give away the prizes were Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd supply chain head Md Fadzwin Abdul Rahim, Sime Darby Auto Bavaria Sdn Bhd corporate and direct sales head Pravinderjeet Singh, Diageo customer marketing (Asia Pacific) head Sandra Tassily and Petron Malaysia Refining and Marketing Bhd marketing manager Danny Chen.

“The contest comprising three phases was launched with the aim of connecting with travellers and our loyal customers.

“ It was also to create a joyful experience and reward them by offering bigger and better prizes,” said Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd managing director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali.

“The second phase of the Buy & Win Contest, which was from Nov 1 to Dec 31 2017, attracted more than 170,000 entries with participants from Malaysia, China and India, among other countries.

“The campaign helped to push Eraman to achieve a double-digit growth in December 2017 compared to 2016. A customer only needed to spend a minimum of RM350 in a single receipt to be eligible for the contest,” he added.

Other than the top three lucky winners, 50 consolation winners received Petron Fuel Vouchers worth RM450 each.

Diageo, owner of the Johnnie Walker brand, was the campaign’s platinum sponsor and offered exclusive discounts of up to 20% on its products.

Additionally, with each purchase, shoppers stood a chance to win a trip for two to the Johnnie Walker House in Seoul worth RM15,000.

Vu Tran Bach from Vietnam, who bought Johnnie Walker Double Black to enter the contest, was the lucky winner of the mega prize.

“Johnnie Walker is a popular and well-regarded brand in Vietnam, so naturally it was my first choice. This will also be my first trip to South Korea,” he said.

As the campaign’s silver sponsor, Petron Malaysia retail business head Faridah Ali said it was thrilled to be part of this partnership with a valued partner like Eraman.

“We will continue to actively engage with our customers by developing strategic partnerships with leading brands and reward our customers with the best experiences,” she added.

The third phase of the Buy & Win Contest will run from April to May and will be held at all Eraman participating outlets, except Express at KLIA and klia2 and food and beverage outlets.
