Young Aces Technical College officially opens

KUALA LUMPUR: New automotive career school, Young Aces Technical College (YATC), has officially launched its vocational learning centre in Segambut and is housed within a 40,000 square feet facility that offers a range of motor vehicle courses.

First opened in December 2015, the new college has 45 students already enrolled since January from as young as 16 -years old, and is located at 48, Persiaran Segambut Tengah, Segambut, 51200 Kuala Lumpur.

The school has been accredited by the Department of Skills Development in the Ministry of Human Resource (JPK) Malaysia and is approved by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) from the United Kingdom to ensure that the quality of technical training and upskilling automotive programmes are current.

The courses currently being offered are the IMI International Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance in three progressive levels and Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) in Level two and three to name a few.



The content covered ranges from diagnosing and rectifying to service and repair in engine, electrical, chassis, transmission, driveline units and components. Also, in-depth knowledge and skills are provided in materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices among others currently found in the automotive industry.

The campus has been touted to be equipped with the latest automotive diagnostic equipment for local, Japanese and Continental vehicles to ensure students gains relevant, up-to-date skills and graduate with the ability to readily enter the workforce.



A team of qualified educators and trainers with a combined experience of over 50 years being in the automotive industry supports the school, which provides a mix of on-the-job training with approximately 70% practical and 30% theoretical learning experience.

The school also offers other regular extra-curricular activities and sporting outings that help to improve language skills, impart financial and managerial skills, provide leadership opportunities and instill teamwork.

For the coming year, the school will be working on partial and full scholarships by private automotive corporations as well as government recognised sponsorships for their students and targets to enroll up 100 students by the second quarter or 2017.
