BMW 7 Series (G12) to receive new rear wheel steering system

MUNICH: BMW in Germany has announced that it will be updating its flagship 7 Series (G12) luxury sedan with its latest version of its Integral Active Steering system from July onwards and adding more personalisation options.

Additionally, the German carmaker will also provide the G12 with a few more exterior colour options before extended the list within its BMW Individual personalisation options.

Available as an optional extra, the new system basically combines a variable front axle transmission ratio with the vehicle's active steering system for the rear wheels.

Basically, this means that the G12 will have added agility at low speeds and higher comfort levels during high-speed cruising.

At less than 3kph, the rear wheels will countersteer to provide the G12 with more agility when manoeuvering in and out of tight parking spaces or when passing through narrow areas.

For colour options, the G12 will now have new colour options that include Phytonic Blue metallic and the BMW Individual finish of Frozen Bluestone metallic.

Also, to further enhance the cabin's luxury ambience, a future refinement to the cabin's luxury ambience comes in the form of BMW Individual's Merino full-grain leather trim in a colour combination of Smokey White, Night Blue and Black - paired with the BMW Individual leather steering wheel.
