As the first all-electric iteration of the BMW X2, the new SAC has one electric motor per axle and produces a system output of 313 hp (230 kW), inclusive of a 7hp (5 kW) boost.
The 66.5 kWh high-voltage battery in the vehicle floor generates a WLTP range of up to 449km.
The century sprint is achieved in just 5.6 seconds, with an electronically limited, maximum speed of 180 km/h.
With a maximum charging power of 130 kW at a High-Power Charging station (HPC), the 66.5 kWh high-voltage battery takes it from 10% to 80% in 29 minutes.
As for AC charging via the Wallbox, the maximum charging power of 11 kW allows charging from 0% to 100% in 6 hours and 30 minutes.
The charging processes are also made extremely convenient with the My BMW App.
The cockpit spotlights the fully digital, driver-oriented BMW Curved Display, with its combined, high-resolution 10.25-inch instrument display cluster and 10.7-inch control display.
The BMW Curved Display is powered by the latest BMW Operating System 9, featuring the advanced BMW iDrive display and equipped with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant as well as a control system with QuickSelect, which is based, for the first time, on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
There are also the full-colour BMW Head-Up Display, which projects essential driving information into the driver’s line of vision, wireless charging tray with a built-in cooling system, front armrest with integrated control panel, automatic tailgate operation and the Harman Kardon Hi-Fi speaker system.
Completing the interior are the M multifunction leather steering wheel, the Aluminium Hexacube Pale M interior trim, the Luxury instrument panel - now with a finer grain, as well as high quality “Veganza” leather-alternative upholstery with contrast stitching.
Front sport seats are standard, while the rear seats feature variable loading, which allows it to be folded down in a 40:20:40 split.
Its front design features the new redesigned closed BMW kidney grille with a black mesh grille and black high-gloss kidney frame, highlighted by the BMW Kidney Iconic Glow.
The adaptive LED headlights with BMW Selective beam are accompanied by new daytime running lights.
The front apron also comes with a black radiator grille in black high gloss.
From the side, the muscular silhouette is characterised by a gently sloping roofline, backwards-tapered windows, M high-gloss Shadow line, and long wheelbase.
This is accompanied by 20-inch M light alloy wheels and flush door handles.
Rear LED taillights are fitted as standard, and there's a high-gloss black rear spoiler.
The iX2 xDrive30 combines sportiness and comfort through its upgraded stabiliser bearings on the front spring-strut axle and the multi-link rear axle, providing improved steering precision and roll stability; its standard actuator-like anti-roll bars (ARB), that improve traction and driving stability; its Adaptive M Suspension and M Sport Steering, which combines outstanding driving dynamics with excellent roadholding as well as a sporty and direct steering sensation; and its M Sports Brakes, ensuring optimum braking deceleration.
Additionally, the SPORT My Mode gives drivers increased driving dynamics potential.
As for driver assistance systems, Active Guard Basis, Driving Assistant Plus and Parking Assistant Plus are available as standard.
The Active Guard Basis offers Lane Departure, Front Collision and Left Turning Warnings, with active steering intervention and braking function; Speed Limit Info and Assist, including anticipation and a no-overtaking indicator; and Evasion aid.
The Driving Assistant Plus is a camera and radar-based assistance system offering Active Cruise Control, a Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Speed Limit Info and Assist, and Lane Departure Warning, with active steering intervention.
As for the Parking Assistant Plus, it is a camera and ultrasound-based driver assistance with parking view and Remote 3D view, and a Drive and Anti-Theft Recorder.
Also coming as standard is the Attentiveness Assistant, that analyses driver behaviour along with travel time to suggest the need to take a break.
Exterior colour offerings include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Skyscraper Grey, Cape York Green, Fire Red, M Portimau Blue, and M Brooklyn Grey.
Upholstery options include “Veganza” leather-alternative in M Alcantara (Black) with Contrast Stitching Blue, Perforated Black, Perforated Coral Red/Black, Perforated Atlas Grey/Smoke White, and Perforated Mocha.
