BMW teases M3 sports seat, manual transmission. And that grille again...
By CARSIFU | 21 September 2020MUNICH: In the latest images of the M3 sedan posted on Instagram, BMW is teasing the new bucket seats and the six-speed manual transmission.
The car is seen in Isle of Man Green paintwork, that's accentuated by the greenish tint to the swirling smoke.
M is known for making great seats so the ones shown here certainly look the part with high shoulder bolsters, pass-throughs behind the neck and fixed headrests. Adding to the cool factor is an illuminated M badge on the seat. By the way, the lit badge will be available for the M3 sedan and related M4 coupe.
What will polarise M fans and prospects are the new grille that's a drastic departure from tradition. Despite the controversial design, BMW's M division will no doubt have segments of its clientele who will shut up and pay top dollar for the pleasure of driving such high performance cars. More so with a stick shift that will prove enticing.
Expect the rear-wheel driven M3 and M4 to get a twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight six with 473hp. This is the same mill used in the X3 M and X4 M apparently. The M3 will get all-wheel drive for the first time. A 503hp Competition variant will join the team and fitted with an 8-speed auto.
Both cars will make their world premiere on Sept 23.
