Continental UltraContact NXT wins 2023 International Design Award
By CARSIFU | 18 February 2024HANNOVER: Continental's UltraContact NXT tyre clinched the "Gold" award in the "Automotive & Transport / Cars Accessories" category at the 2023 International Design Awards (IDA).
The accolade recognises the tyre's innovative sidewall design and sustainability features, with up to 65% of its materials being renewable, recycled, and ISCC Plus mass balance-certified.
Designed by Stefan Rittweger, the tyre's design incorporates a leaf motif using cutting-edge 3D and depth effects to signify its environmental commitment.
Functionality was a key focus, with the tread design not only optimised for technical performance but also engineered to enhance safety and durability.
According to Continental, the UltraContact NXT stands out for its sustainability, safety, and performance, boasting top ratings in rolling resistance, wet braking, and exterior noise on the EU tyre label.
Continental's ambition to incorporate over 40% renewable and recycled materials into its tyres by 2030 aligns with its Vision 2030 strategy, aiming to position the company as an industry leader in sustainability.
