Couple crashes car into Sabah police station
By THE STAR | 30 August 2021KOTA KINABALU: A couple was arrested after they crashed their vehicle into the Ranau district police station here on Sunday.
Ranau OCPD Deputy Supt Simiun Lomudin said in the 9.17am incident, the 33-year-old male suspect who was driving his vehicle while his 27-year-old wife sat beside him drove straight into a signboard in front of the station's guardhouse.
"After that, the man drove towards the station lobby," he said.
He said the man got out of the car later, grabbed a trash can nearby and started hitting the lobby glass door and broke it.
No one was injured in this incident.
DSP Simiun said the couple was apprehended following the incident and were taken for a drug test.
"The man tested positive for drugs and we believe he had acted violently under the influence of substance," he said.
He said both suspects have been remanded to facilitate investigations into the case.
