E-scooter operator Beam held free safety course for 50 riders
By CARSIFU | 18 May 2022KUALA LUMPUR: Singapore-based e-scooter operator Beam held its first local training course on how to use the vehicle last Sunday at the 1 Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya.
The course trains e-scooter users how how to ride the machine safely.
Around 50 people attended the free course.
The course provided step-by-step lessons on proper e-scooter usage, parking methods, safety rules, and the importance of adhering to local micro mobility laws.
Beam e-scooters are available to rent for Malaysians above 18 years old. Beam charges 60 sen per minute as soon as the ride starts. Every e-scooter comes with a battery that can take riders as far as 60km.
The e-scooters have a 25kph speed limit even when going downhill.
The e-scooters have built-in GPS trackers that will cause the machine to slow down and sound a loud alert should a user take it beyond its riding jurisdiction.
