Lexus to unveil all-new RX on June 1

TOKYO: Lexus has released a teaser image of the new RX in the run-up to its June 1 unveiling.

Lexus said the luxury SUV has undergone a complete renewal inside and out - all the better to stand up to its German rivals.

The announcement came as the company's NX and all new RZ electric SUV have been introduced.

The teaser photo shows an RX with new headlight designs, large air intakes and a new take on the signature "Spindle" grille.

What is anticipated is an improved infotainment system from the 12.3-inch centre touchscreen and a range of hybrid engine options.

An RX 450h+ with a 2.5-litre petrol mill paired with front and rear motors should give a total output of 305hp, while an 18.1kWh battery could give the big SUV an electric range below 70km.

We should also see a 3.5-litre V6 hybrid variant making its way to market.
