Man who drove car in bike lane surrenders to police
By THE STAR | 23 August 2020KUALA LUMPUR: The driver of a car which had been driven on a motorcycle lane along the Federal Highway has surrendered to the police.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said the man went to the traffic police station here on Saturday.
The driver of the Toyota Vios drove the vehicle into the motorcycle lane of the Federal Highway. Such cases have happened before in the past.
The driver, who was driving against the flow of traffic, caused a motorcyclist to swerve out of the way and hit a pillar at the side of the road during the 4pm incident on Thursday.
The video footage showed the driver of the car bearing the number plate QMN 5338 continuing to drive against the flow of traffic even after causing the accident.
"The car is registered to a driver who is based in Sarawak," said ACP Zulkefly.
