New BMW 7 Series and i7 to make digital world premiere on April 20
By CARSIFU | 13 April 2022MUNICH: BMW is set to introduce the new 7 Series and its electric counterpart, the i7, in an online debut on April 20.
An image of the new i7 was teased ahead of the double debut, showing a lit outline of the kidney grille and its slitty daytime running lights which is separate from the headlights below.
This split lighting arrangement will be seen in the new 7 Series, the latest X7 and the XM to set them apart from the lower-priced models.
Combustion engines are still very much alive and the 7 Series will continue to have a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six and a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 engines running in tandem with a 48-volt hybrid system. A plug-in hybrid will be offered as usual.
BMW has already shed some light on the i7 last month, saying it will have a range of over 600km. The i7 output has also been revealed as coming close to the 516hp of the iX xDrive50 and its 105.2-kWh battery pack.
Malaysians can tune in to the livestream of the double debut at 8pm on April 20.
