WOLFSBURG: Volkswagen today teased a new electric vehicle concept, which it touts “is as revolutionary as the Beetle was seven decades ago.”

The production vehicle which follows will be the first Volkswagen to enter the market based on the new modular electrification kit (MEB).

It will certainly aimed the cars at China, from where it derives more than a third of its global vehicle sales. In fact, Volkswagen had recently said it is exploring a joint venture to make electric cars in China with a state-run company, as it tries to steer away from the “Dieselgate” scandal.

The EV concept will be showcased at the Oct 1-16 Paris Motor Show.
