Skoda Enyaq RS Race concept unveiled

PRAGUE: Škoda Auto has introduced the Enyaq RS Race, a new concept study that showcases the brand's potential in sustainable motorsports and high-performance electric vehicle technology.

The Enyaq RS Race, derived from the Škoda Enyaq Coupé vRS, is a key component of Škoda’s strategy to integrate its motorsport heritage with advanced electric technologies.

This concept is designed to push the limits of electric performance and includes extensive testing to enhance future battery-electric production vehicles.

The car features a dramatic design with a large rear wing and aggressive body modifications, highlighting its racing DNA and the capabilities of the Volkswagen Group’s Modular electric drive matrix for performance enhancements.

Škoda Motorsport head Michal Hrabánek emphasised the dual benefits of the concept: strengthening the brand’s emotional appeal and transferring motorsport-driven technological advancements to road models.

Škoda Auto senior designer  Daniel Petr said the Enyaq RS Race is set to be more than just a concept; it will be built with significant design elements from motorsport, including a sharply sculpted nose and widened fenders, which contribute to its dynamic capabilities.

The introduction of the Enyaq RS Race follows Škoda’s ongoing commitment to sustainable racing practices, as seen with their earlier ventures such as the Škoda Fabia RE-X1, an electric rally car, and the Vision GT, a digital-only electric race car for the Gran Turismo 7 game.

These projects demonstrate Škoda’s efforts in promoting sustainability in motorsport, with the Fabia Rally2 using 100% sustainable fuel in the WRC2, serving as a practical testbed for new electromobility solutions under demanding conditions.
