New Maserati GranCabrio unveiled

MODENA: Maserati has unveiled the GranCabrio, expanding its range with an open-top version that combines luxury, performance, and style.

The new model, a convertible variant of the GranTurismo coupe, is designed for driving enthusiasts seeking the ultimate comfort and elegance on the road.

The GranCabrio is launched in the Trofeo trim, powered by the Nettuno engine — a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 generating 542hp, making it one of the most powerful vehicles in Maserati's line-up. It's the same engine found in the MC20 supercar albeit detuned.

Power is put down to both axles via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

According to Maserati, the 4-seat GranCabrio offers an open-air driving experience without compromising on luxury or performance. Its fabric roof can be retracted in 14 seconds, even at speeds up to 50kph.

The convertible continues the legacy of Maserati's 60-year story in convertible sports cars, dating back to the 3500 GT unveiled in 1959.

The GranCabrio is equipped with thermal and acoustic comfort features, including a neck warmer for cooler drives and a wind stopper to minimise turbulence, enhancing the vehicle’s aerodynamics.

With its focus on blending aesthetic appeal with functional design, the GranCabrio features advanced infotainment and driver assistance technologies.

Maserati has yet to announce pricing but expect it to list for more than US$200,000 (RM950,000).
