To date, 25 units have already been registered less than two weeks following its unveiling. The X70 is already selling in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is one of over 15 countries Proton exports its cars to.
Proton expects to start local assembly there later in 2024.
Proton aims to be among the top three brands in Bangladesh within three years, said its CEO Dr Li Chunrong, adding that more models would be introduced later.
Proton distributor in Bangladesh Rancon Holdings has already set up a sales and aftersales network and will invest in a plant to locally assemble Proton vehicles.
Dr Li also said Proton is using the Volvo Global Quality Standard to ensure product quality is consistent in markets outside Malaysia where local assembly operations are set up.
