Stellantis turning to airfreight to compensate for temporary Red Sea disruptions
By REUTERS | 14 January 2024MILAN: Stellantis is relying on airfreight to cope with temporary supply disruptions caused by international shifts in transport routes due to attacks on vessels in the Red Sea, a spokesman for the carmaker said on Friday.
"Stellantis has taken appropriate measures to compensate for the temporary extension of some rerouted vessels by using some limited airfreight solutions," the spokesman said, replying to a request for a comment by Reuters.
The Franco-Italian group "has almost no impact on manufacturing to date", the spokesman added.
