The new B-segment sedan had made its Asian debut in Thailand in mid-November.
Its new, lighter HRA0 1.0-litre turbo engine delivers 100ps and torque of 152Nm, with fuel consumption billed as 23.3km per litre.
The new Almera features lower, wider, and longer exterior dimensions using Nissan’s Emotional Geometry design language, while retaining a roomy interior.
Key elements of the Emotional Geometry design language in the new Almera include the V-motion grille, boomerang-shaped headlamps and tail lamps, kick-up C-pillars, and a floating roof.
The interior has a new instrument panel, infotainment screen, steering wheel and seats.
Premium kit on more expensive variants include best-in-class safety systems such as Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
With four cameras on the front, rear and side of the vehicle, the new Almera offers Intelligent Around View Monitor and Moving Object Detection.
The NissanConnect multi-infotainment system with 8-inch touchscreen Color Display Audio (AIVI) provides infotainment, navigation, safety, security and more under a single platform, with seamless connection via smartphone.
The new Almera comes in five grade levels - S, E, EL, V and VL – and is priced from 499,000 baht (RM68,882) to 639,000 baht (RM88,208).
