For a limited time, all refreshed T60 will get the Maxus Performance Kit worth RM3,000 that increases the power of its 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine to 155bhp at 3,000rpm but also boosts torque the standard 360Nm to an impressive 425Nm between 1,600 to 2,300rpm.
The elevated performance has also improved the combined fuel economy from 9.6 litres per 100km previously to 9 litres per 100km.
Transmission is a six-speed Punch automatic with BorgWarner's electronically controlled four-wheel drive system that allows switching between the modes of 2H, 4H and 4L on-the-fly. A Drive Mode select feature allows the driver to choose Eco, Normal or Power.
Eco offers a 2% reduction in fuel consumption over the Normal default while Power offers a 5% increase in performance that will be especially handy in off-road conditions or when carrying a heavy load.
The T60 comes with 17-inch wheels and can be upgraded to 19-inch wheels for RM3,000.
The pick-up truck has a maximum load rating of 815kg and a towing capacity of 3,000kg.
It also comes with an Eaton mechanical differential lock for improved traction.
Meanwhile, the new front grille that carries the name of the marque in an understated but elegant shade of matte black.
Other features include a Bosch Electronic Stability Programme that integrated an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Traction Control System (TCS), Brake Assist (BA), Roll Movement Intervention (RMI) for greater stability as well as improved traction at high speeds or in the event of emergency avoidance maneuvers.
The RMI recognises the threat of an impending rollover from the various sensors and intuitively applies the brakes individually to resist the motion and return stability to the vehicle.The vehicle is also fitted with Hill Start Assist Control (HAS) and Hill Descent Control (HDC) for navigating steep inclines and declines.Completing the extensive list of safety equipment are front and side airbags, automatic headlight adjustment, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, two ISOFIX anchorage points and a Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) that is activated from 30kph.
The automatic headlight adjustments adjusts the beam level according to road conditions and rotates in correspondence to the steering input to illuminate the road ahead.
This in addition to the follow-me-home function, Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and automatic headlight sensing features.
Also included are power-adjustable front seats as well as both forward and rearward folding rear seats for extra storage, a push-start button, automatic air-conditioning, an aluminium luggage rack, a stainless-steel roll cage, side steps, chrome-plated door handles, chrome-plated electric folding mirrors and fog lamps.
