KUALA LUMPUR: Bermaz Xpeng has launched the updated all-electric Xpeng G6 Ultra Smart Coupe SUV that is enhanced with improved features, higher performance and new styling touches.
Open for booking and available in three variants, on-the-road without insurance pricing for private registrations are RM179,708 for the G6 RWD Long Range Pro, G6 AWD Performance (RM190,708) and G6 AWD Black Edition (RM194,708).
The Black Edition, the flagship of the lineup, is equipped with a distinctive black Xpeng logo, 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels and matching black brake calipers for more aggressive and performance-focused look.
Fully imported from China, the latest G6 comes in Arctic White, Graphite Gray, Midnight Black, Silver Frost and Stellar Purple.
The previous G6 edition was first introduced locally in August last year.
Built on Xpeng’s advanced SEPA 2.0 architecture, the new G6 delivers improved driving dynamics with greater efficiency, upgraded intelligence for a more seamless and connected experience.
Key exterior updates include a full-width Starlight Wing LED light bar with integrated turn signals for improved visibility.
The matte gray Xpeng logo has been repositioned to the hood for a sharper appearance and the rear diffuser gets redesigned for better airflow.
The wheel arches are now in body colour while the new "ducktail" tailgate adds visual length.
The new Super Star-Ring Interior Design transforms 60% of the interior and introduces a sleek dashboard, ambient lighting and a capacitive steering wheel.
Offered in refined Dark Gray or Light Gray, the cabin combines advanced connectivity and smart cockpit functions, highlighted by a large central display, intuitive voice control and seamless smartphone integration to create a more connected and engaging driving experience.
Aside from the 10.25-inch digital instrument display, 15.6-inch central control screen and a panoramic star sunroof, the G6 offers class-leading head and leg room.
Front occupants get seats with massage, lumbar support, heating, and ventilation functions while those at the rear also benefit from class-leading comfort with a 12-level reclining seat design.
Powering the G6 is Xpeng’s next-generation Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) 800V high-voltage SiC platform that offers higher efficiency and long-term durability, marking the EV industry’s first upgrade to 5C LFP batteries.
The G6 now features an upgraded 80.5kWh LFP battery pack, replacing the 87.5kWh lithium-ion battery used in earlier models.
With the 800V SiC platform, the G6 can accept DC charging up to 451kW and deliver a 10% to 80% state of charge (SOC) in just 12 minutes, making it the fastest charging EV in its class.
A single charge range is 525km for the RWD variant and 510km for the AWD versions.
The battery is also protected by ballistic-grade armour to withstand extreme conditions, including temperatures of up to 1,000 Celsius and side crush pressure of 80 tonnes.
The RWD comes with a single motor pushing out 218kW and 440Nm of torque to achieve a 0-100kph sprint of 6.7 seconds, while the dual motor AWD variants whip out a total output of 358kW and 660Nm of torque for an even quicker dash of 4.13 seconds.
Meanwhile, the fully upgraded intelligent driving suite includes a MicroFiber capacitive steering wheel and an advanced driving chip.
Among the features are 20-inch wheels, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Centering Control (LCC), Adaptive Turning Cruise (ATC), Auto Lane Change (ALC), Enhanced Auto Parking Assist (EAP2.0), Auto Exit Parking Assist (AEP), Parking Assist with 360-degree camera, Transparent Chassis, key remote control parking assistance, mobile phone app parking assistance and straight vehicle summon.
Also included are XOPERA Surround Sound System with 16 speakers, 256 ambient light colours,"Hey Xpeng" voice assistant, smart navigation, App store, Apple Carplay, Android Auto and Over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
Bermaz Auto group chief executive officer Datuk Francis Lee said Xpeng is redefining design, intelligence and driving experience on the global stage.

Lee said Xpeng is not a traditional player in the automotive industry.
"Its differentiation lies in having AI at its core, from robots to autonomous driving vehicles, to flying cars, and ultimately leading to embodied intelligence," he said.
The G6 comes with a 5-Year Manufacturer Warranty (or 120,000km, whichever comes first) and 5-Years Free Service and Maintenance (or 100,000km, whichever comes first).
Additionally, the coverage includes an 8-Year High Voltage Battery Pack Warranty with a 160,000km mileage limit.
The company is also offering a single-phase 7kW AC charger with installation at RM4,300 and a three-phase 11kW AC charger with installation at RM5,000.
