KUALA LUMPUR: The 2026 BYD Atto 3 has locked in an impressive booking of over 1,000 units within just 10 days of its launch.
BYD Sime Motors, the official distributor of BYD Cars in Malaysia, said the achievement mirrored the model’s local debut in 2022 when it achieved the same booking milestone within an identical timeframe.
"This achievement reaffirms the enduring appeal of one of the country’s most popular EV models," the company said.
The 2026 Atto 3 now comes with enhanced performance, particularly the Premium variant with Rear-Wheel Drive, which delivers a 0–100kph sprint in 5.5 seconds.
This variant also has charging capability up to 220kW, a driving range of up to 600km, and enhanced safety and intelligent features.
BYD Sime Motors also said the strong booking numbers build on the Atto 3's strong track record in Malaysia, where it remains the country's all-time best-selling EV model with more than 12,000 units delivered to date.
BYD Malaysia managing director Jacob Ma said today’s drivers increasingly seek vehicles that seamlessly combine technology, convenience and everyday usability.
"The 2026 BYD Atto 3 delivers on this," he said.
Sime Motors Malaysia retail & distribution managing director Vi Thim Juan said the Atto 3 has struck a chord with Malaysian drivers.
